Mike Tyson publicly responded to Floyd Mayweather's repeated claims that he is the greatest boxer of all time. The legendary former world heavyweight champion decided to remind about the existence of other outstanding records in boxing history.
âFloyd is a great fighter, no question about it,â Tyson began, acknowledging Mayweatherâs accomplishments and his flawless 50-0 record. However, immediately after that, he went on to compare with other legends.
According to Tyson, if we talk about true greatness and incredible streaks, it's worth remembering Sugar Ray Robinson: âHe had 40 fights, lost one, and then delivered 78 consecutive victories. Damn it!â Iron Mike emotionally emphasized.
Tyson also described the achievement of Julio Cesar Chavez as no less impressive: âHe was 87-0 before his first loss, and had about 90 victories in total. Donât tell me about the âgreatestâ with a 50-0 record.â
Recall that it was previously confirmed that Tyson and Mayweather will hold an exhibition match on April 25 in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
