The former undisputed world champion in the junior middleweight division Jermell Charlo (35-2-1, 19 KOs) is currently a free agent and looking for a new promoter. The American hinted on social media that he is interested in partnering with Golden Boy Promotions or Matchroom Boxing.
"Boxing is not a team sport. Therefore, the next move is always the best. I don't know why they are so nervous. But I was always told that if the opposing team starts to argue, it means you're doing something right," the boxer wrote on social media.
Charlo hasn't fought since September 2023, when he lost by points to Saul Alvarez. A fight with Errol Spence was discussed last year, but ultimately the match fell through.
Even before the fight with Canelo, the American boxer had averaged only one fight per year in recent years. Currently, Charlo is collaborating with Al Haymon and participating in the Premier Boxing Champions project.
