Gervonta Davis (30-0-1, 28 KO) lost his WBA lightweight world title and is currently listed as a 'champion on vacation'. This was due to a recently issued warrant for Davis's arrest.

WBA President Gilberto Jesus Mendoza confirmed the demotion in status, effectively ending Davis's tenure as the primary WBA lightweight titleholder. Davis first won a secondary WBA belt in December 2019, before being elevated to full titleholder in early 2024.

The American's issues are related to a case in which the boxer is accused, among other things, of assault, kidnapping, and causing emotional harm to his former partner. New evidence has reportedly emerged in the case, including a video recording.

As a result, Davis missed the fight scheduled for December with Jake Paul. The last fight of 'Tank' with Lamont Roach took place in March, which ended in a draw.
