As Ngannou mentioned, "I personally didn't talk about money, but he was ready to pay. They intended to pay me a good amount of money." However, for Ngannou, it wasn't about the potential cash windfall. "It wasn't about the money," he stated plainly.
With this proposed fight, Paul might have attempted to prove his standing as a professional boxer by taking on a former heavyweight champion like Ngannou. Yet Ngannou didn't buy into that narrative.
