Cruz sets his eyes on becoming the face of Mexican boxing worldwide. He acknowledges that stepping into Canelo's shoes won't be easy, but the challenge motivates him to push for perfection every day. Despite changes in the lineup due to health issues from a previous opponent, he remains focused on proving himself against Lamont Roach Jr. Their fight takes place on December 6 at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas.

In a recent interview, Cruz shared his thoughts about carrying forward the legacy of Mexican boxing following Alvarez’s anticipated retirement around 2027 due to medical rehabilitation requirements. Despite changes and cancellations due to health concerns from opponents like Angel 'Tashiro' Fierro, Cruz remains unfazed and driven.

“To be talked about as the next face of Mexican boxing motivates me,” explained Pitbull. “It drives me to seek perfection—my goal has always been ensuring that fans emerge as real winners.”

The path is challenging for Cruz. His record stands at 28 wins, three losses, and one draw. His ambition doesn't stop there; he pledges no room for error when facing Roach Jr., emphasizing preparation by studying all strengths and weaknesses from past performances.

"Winning is the only option on December 6," said Pitbull with conviction. "We must win round by round. My team focuses completely on this mission: winning at all costs."

As ‘Pitbull’ Cruz moves towards potentially succeeding Canelo in reputation, Mexico watches with enthusiasm and hope for another globally recognized champion who will leave audiences inspired both inside and outside of rings around the globe.
