Davis is facing legal issues again. This week, news emerged that the current WBA lightweight world champion is accused, among other things, of assault, kidnapping, and causing moral harm to his former partner. Although the case is civil, not criminal, and not yet closed, its publication at a critical moment in the preparation for the event featuring Davis significantly increases the risk of the planned fight being disrupted.
It's also unknown whether "Tank's" current mental state will allow him to fight. The Paul-Davis fight will be broadcast live on Netflix. In his last ring appearance, Paul defeated former middleweight world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
