Negotiations have begun for organizing a fight for the title of undisputed heavyweight champion of the world between Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs) and Fabio Wardley (20-0-1, 19 KOs).

“At the moment, it looks like Usyk will have to defend his WBO belt against Fabio, and negotiations are underway,” stated the Briton's promoter Frank Warren. “If we can't reach an agreement, a purse bid will be announced. The winner will determine the venue and date of the fight, and then contracts will be signed.”

“Usyk will have a choice: he will sign the contract, and then we will organize the fight, or he will not sign, and then Fabio [without a fight] will become the champion and fight someone else,” added the head of Queensberry Promotions, which promotes the British fighter. Earlier, Warren stated that the Usyk — Wardley fight could take place in March in the UK or Saudi Arabia.
