Jake Paul, YouTuber and boxer, once grabbed headlines with his whirlwind relationship with fellow YouTuber Tana Mongeau. In April 2019, the pair started dating, and Jake appeared to propose just a couple of months later during Tana's 21st birthday bash. Fast forward to July that year, they held a "wedding" ceremony in Las Vegas, but without any legal documentation of marriage.

Tana spoke about their decision candidly:

"To everybody that's calling it fake because we rushed into it ... because I wanted to not do it legally."

She further elaborated on the nature of their relationship:

"I think that legally binding yourself to someone takes away the love. Fun and lighthearted ... obviously doing for fun and for content."

Jake himself admitted:

"We all do things sometimes... And sometimes you end up getting fake married. So I'll leave it at that."

They used the event mainly for entertainment and an Instagram post even highlights this playful narrative around their [fake wedding](https://www.instagram.com/p/DHgYbK2R8d2/?utm_source=ig_embed&utm_medium=loading).

Though things are no longer serious between Jake and Tana, revealingly referred by her as "for content", Jake recently got spotted with Jutta Leerdam—a world champion speed-skater—suggesting he's moved on from the staged antics with Tana.
