Tony Bellew has changed his mind about who would win if Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua fought. The former cruiserweight world champion now thinks differently after watching Joshua's recent fight.
Fury vs Joshua is still one of the biggest potential fights in boxing. Even though both fighters are getting older and closer to 40, fans are really curious about what would happen if they stepped in the ring together.
Both men are former world champions and have lost twice to Oleksandr Usyk. Usyk made history by becoming the first two-time undisputed heavyweight champion in the four-belt era.
Fury said he was retiring after his second loss in December. But he's been talking about fighting Usyk again in 2026. People have also seen him training in the ring recently.
Bellew used to think Joshua would beat Fury. But he's not so sure anymore. He told SportingTalk:
"I've always thought Anthony Joshua would stop Tyson Fury but I can't keep making that statement now because you have to base it on your last performance and 'AJ's last performance, I still can't get my head round how Daniel Dubois beat him."
Bellew was surprised by how Joshua fought against Dubois last September. He said:
"He just came out and put it on him and he walked right through him. If 'AJ' had have met him head on, he's better in every department. The biggest thing for Anthony Joshua is himself. If Anthony Joshua comes out and lets his hands go, he's the second best heavyweight the world. Just let the hands go and don't worry about anything."
Joshua might need a few fights to get back to his best. There's talk about him fighting Jake Paul next, which would be a surprising choice. Paul's promoter says this fight could really happen.
