Crawford, known as 'Bud', is 37 years old and comes from Omaha. He's moving up in weight for this fight. Last August, he beat Israil Madrimov in a super welterweight bout at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles. That win ended Crawford's impressive 11-fight knockout streak.
Alvarez holds all four belts at 168lbs. He started his second reign as undisputed champion by beating William Scull. Canelo's got one of the best chins in boxing and has never officially been knocked down.
This fight is a big deal for Crawford. It's the toughest test of his career so far. If he wins, he'll be the first man to be undisputed champion in three weight classes in the modern era. He's also got a shot at doing something rare - stopping Canelo.
After losing to Crawford, Madrimov had some things to say. At the post-fight press conference, he said:
"There's no doubt on his power, there's no doubt on his skills. I knew that and that's why this fight was so close."
But in an interview with Mill City Boxing, Madrimov talked about Crawford's power at the higher weight:
"It's regular power because he's a [smaller] weight going up. It's normal, you know, his punch."
This fight is a big deal for boxing fans. It's a clash between two of the best fighters in the world, pound for pound. We'll see what happens when they step into the ring next month.
