Shakur Stevenson and Teofimo Lopez got into a war of words on social media. The fight started when Lopez posted an old sparring video that looked like he was getting the better of Stevenson.

Lopez, the WBO super lightweight champion, shared the grainy clip on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption: "What did I miss, @ShakurStevenson @Turki_alalshikh?"

Stevenson, who holds the WBC lightweight title, fired back right away. The Newark native denied the video showed what Lopez claimed and said it had been messed with.

Later, Stevenson appeared on the Nightcap podcast with Shannon Sharpe and Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson. He talked about who he wants to fight next, but Lopez wasn't on his list.

"I like Andy Cruz. I think he's the only one with a boxing IQ close to mine."

Stevenson mentioned he'd like to face Gervonta Davis, Lamont Roach, and Andy Cruz. Cruz is a young talent with only six pro fights under his belt.

It looks like Stevenson cares more about challenging, technical fights than theatrical ones. But with all the back-and-forth on social media, which plays a big part in boxing these days, we might see these two settle their beef in the ring.
