Benn's last fight was a tough one. He lost to Chris Eubank Jr by unanimous decision at 160lbs in April. After that, Benn wanted a rematch right away. The plan was to do it in September, with the same weight and rehydration rules as the first fight.
But now, that rematch might not happen until November - if it happens at all. Many people, including Eubank Jr's dad, are worried about Jr making 160lbs again. They think it's not safe.
So, Benn's looking at other options. He could go back to his natural weight of 147lbs. There, he might fight guys like Mario Barrios, Shakur Stevenson, or Devin Haney.
Haney told Ring Magazine he'd love to fight Benn, but he's got some conditions.
"We got to see him back at 147. His last fight was at 160. I think they're gonna do another fight at 160. If he comes back down to 147 yeah, but I want him to actually fight at 147 first, rather than me hoping he makes weight. But if he comes back down to 147 yeah, I would love to make that fight."
'The Dream' Haney is a two-weight world champion. He's got a big fight coming up in November against Brian Norman Jr for the WBO Welterweight World Title. Norman won that belt in August 2024 and just defended it with a knockout win over Jin Sasaki in Tokyo.
If Haney wins, he'll be a three-weight world champion. A fight with Benn after that could be really big for both of them.
For now, we'll have to wait and see what Benn decides to do. Will he try for the Eubank Jr rematch again? Or will he come back down to welterweight and maybe set up a fight with Haney? It's all up in the air, but there are some exciting possibilities ahead.
