Manny Pacquiao's comeback fight ended in a draw on Saturday night. The 46-year-old Filipino star faced Mario Barrios,BC welterweight champion Mario Barrios at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
The judges couldn a majority decision draw. Two scorecards read 114-114, while the third favored Barrios 115-113. Many fans and analysts felt Pacquiao should have gotten the nod.
'Pac-Man' looked to turn back the clock against the 30-year-old Texan known as 'El Azteca'. A win would have made Pacquiao the oldest wel, breaking his own record set in 2019 against Keith Thurman.
Devin Haney, former undisputed lightweight champ, shared his thoughts on the outcome. He told FightHype:
"I think Manny won, 7-5."
Despite the controversial result, Pacquiao announced he'll keep fighting. A rematch with Barrios could be next. There's also talk of a potential showdown with Floyd against Floyd Mayweather. The former rivals met ten years ago, with Mayweather winning by unanimous decision.
Pacquiao, an eight-division world champion, put on an impressive display in his return to the ring. The Filipino legend proved he can still compete at the highest level, even in46 years old.
