Manny Pacquiao's getting ready to step back into the ring. The Filipino boxing icon will challenge WBC world welterweight champion Mario Barrios on Saturday, July 19, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Pacquiao's return comes after a four-year break from professional boxing. His last pro fight was a defeat against Yordenis Ugas in the summer of 2021. Since then, he's kept busy with exhibition matches, facing Rukiya Anpo in 2022 and DK Yoo in 2024.

At 46 years old, 'PacMan' could set a new record if he wins. He's already the oldest welterweight champion in boxing history, having won the WBA world title at 40 when he beat Keith Thurman in 2019.

Mexican boxing legend Erik Morales shared his thoughts on Pacquiao's comeback in an interview with Fight Hype. Morales, who fought Pacquiao three times, winning once but losing twice, said:

"Well he's going to return to the ring because he still wants to be a boxer. We've all had that moment and I hope it all goes well for him."

Morales also had a message of support for his former rival:

"Congratulations for all your work. I hope it all goes well for you."

The fight against Barrios, nicknamed 'El Azteca', will show if Pacquiao can still compete at the highest level. It's a big challenge for the Filipino star, who's been out of professional action for a while.

Pacquiao and Morales have a rich history in the ring, with their three fights being some of the most exciting in recent boxing memory. Now, as Pacquiao prepares for another big fight, he's got the support of his former rival.
