Terence Crawford thinks Keyshawn Davis will beat everyone in boxing. The undefeated champion from Omaha, Nebraska, shared his thoughts on the current talent in the sport.
Crawford, who's won 41 fights and held world titles in four weight classes, sees something special in Davis. The 37-year-old boxer gave his take on the young champion during an interview on the "Ring Champs with Ak & Barak" show.
"Keyshawn beats everybody," Crawford said. When asked about a potential fight between Davis and Shakur Stevenson, he added, "Yeah that's cool, they don't need to fight each other, they can beat up everybody else."
Davis, who's 26 and from Norfolk, Virginia, recently proved his worth. He stopped the previously unbeaten Ukrainian Denys Berinchyk in the fourth round to grab the WBO lightweight title on February 14, 2024. Now, he's getting ready for his first title defense against Edwin De Los Santos on June 7 in his hometown.
Crawford's praise for Davis comes from firsthand experience. The two have trained together, giving Crawford a close look at the young champ's skills.
While Crawford gives Davis the edge over everyone, he also has high praise for Shakur Stevenson. He believes Stevenson, the current WBC lightweight champion, "beats all comers."
Crawford himself is gearing up for a big fight. He'll face Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez for the undisputed super-middleweight championship in September 2024.
The lightweight division is heating up with talents like Davis, Stevenson, and Gervonta 'Tank' Davis. Fans are eager to see these fighters test themselves against each other. But for now, Crawford thinks Keyshawn Davis stands above the rest.
