Jake Paul Sets Surprising Terms for Gervonta Davis Showdown: "It's About More Than Money"

Paul's proposal comes as he gets ready for his June 28 fight against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. at the Honda Center in Anaheim. The social media star has become one of boxing's most-watched figures in recent years, with his fight against Mike Tyson drawing over 100 million viewers.

The proposed exhibition with Davis would have a 195-pound weight limit and last for 10 three-minute rounds. Paul acknowledged the significant weight difference between them, which is more than 25 kilos.

"I mean, that was also a step away, but he has to do the rematch against Lamont Roach. He wants to get that back and then we'll talk to Mr. Gervonta again," Paul said, explaining where things stand with the proposal.

Davis, the current lightweight champion, is coming off a draw against Lamont Roach in March. He'll likely focus on that rematch before considering Paul's offer.

Paul believes this matchup could be a major draw for fans.

"It's a fight where the fans will win, and it will be the biggest event of the year," he stated.

The proposal has sparked debate in the boxing world. Some question if it's a fair matchup given the weight difference, while others wonder about the value of non-professional exhibition fights.

Paul continues to aim high in his boxing career. He's expressed interest in fighting big names like Canelo Alvarez and Anthony Joshua. For now, he'll concentrate on his upcoming bout with Chavez Jr. as talks with Davis remain up in the air.
