Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez looks to his next big challenge after his May 4 fight. The undisputed super middleweight champion will face undefeated William Scull in Saudi Arabia. But Canelo's eyes are already set on a potential September showdown with Terence 'Bud' Crawford.

Canelo's had a strong run lately. He beat Edgar Berlanga and Jaime Munguia in 2024. Now he's gearing up for Scull. But it's the Crawford fight that's got everyone talking.

Crawford's style reminds Canelo of Floyd Mayweather. That's a big deal for the Mexican champ. He told The Ring Magazine:

"I've learned a lot since that fight. Today I'm more mature, more complete. I would like people to see that I'm not the same boxer I was a decade ago"

It's a chance for Canelo to show how far he's come since his loss to Mayweather in 2013.

Crawford's no slouch either. At 37, he's got a perfect 40-0 record with 31 knockouts. He just won the interim super welterweight title against Israil Madrimov. 'Bud' has been undisputed champ at super lightweight and welterweight. Now he's looking to make history by becoming undisputed in a third division at 168 pounds.

For Crawford, this fight could be the highest point of his career. It's a chance to close out with a historic legacy. For Canelo, it's about proving he's evolved since the Mayweather loss.

But there are a couple of things that need to happen first. Canelo's got to beat Scull on May 4. And Crawford will need to move up from 154 to 168 pounds.

If it all comes together, we could see one of the biggest boxing events of 2025 in Las Vegas this September. Two undisputed champions going head-to-head? That's the kind of fight that gets fans excited.
