Chris Eubank Jr beat Conor Benn on Saturday night at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. The fight ended with a unanimous decision for Eubank Jr, with all three judges scoring it 116-112.
The match, which took three years to come together, lived up to expectations. Eubank Jr and Benn gave fans an entertaining 12-round battle with plenty of exciting moments.
Canelo Alvarez watched the fight and shared his thoughts with Seconds Out.
"Very good show, very good performance from both fighters, I enjoyed the fight."
When asked about a potential future fight with Eubank Jr, Canelo didn't rule it out.
"I'm focused 100% on what I have in front right now for the future, but it's always a possibility there. We'll see in the future."
Canelo's got a busy schedule ahead. This Saturday, he'll face William Scull in Saudi Arabia. The Mexican star will put his WBC, WBA, and WBO super middleweight titles on the line against Scull's IBF belt. The winner will walk away as the undisputed champion at 168 pounds.
Looking further ahead, Canelo's team is working on setting up a mega-fight with Terence Crawford for September. Crawford, a pound-for-pound star and four-weight world champion, will give Canelo one of his toughest tests to date.
With so much on his plate, a showdown with Eubank Jr isn't in Canelo's immediate plans. But in the ever-changing world of boxing, you can never say never.
