Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn are set to face off in a long-awaited bout at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The fighters will meet at 160 lbs, with Benn moving up two weight classes from welterweight.

The matchup comes after their proposed fight in October 2022 was called off when Benn tested positive for a banned substance. The long-standing rivalry between the two fighters heated up even more during their recent press conference.

Eubank Jr smashed an egg on Benn's face, apparently mocking a potential WBC explanation for Benn's positive test. The incident led to a heated exchange and increased the animosity between the two.

Eubank Jr comes into the fight with a natural size advantage. He's recently experienced both a knockout loss and a knockout win against former world champion Liam Smith. Benn, on the other hand, has had two low-key points wins in the United States against untested opponents.

Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez, who's beaten the likes of Billy Joe Saunders, Callum Smith, John Ryder, and Amir Khan, shared his thoughts on the Eubank Jr-Benn face-off in a recent DAZNBoxing" rel="noopener" target="_blank">interview with DAZN

.

When asked to rate the face-off between Benn and Eubank, Canelo simply said, "One." The interviewer then asked what Canelo would do if someone smashed an egg in his face at a weigh-in. Canelo's response was blunt:

"I probably kill him."

Canelo's got his own fights to worry about. He's facing William Scull in May, aiming to become a two-time undisputed super middleweight champion. There's also talk of a potential matchup with Chris Eubank Jr down the line. But first, he's got his sights set on a September clash with pound-for-pound great Terence Crawford.

As for Eubank Jr and Benn, their fight promises to be a heated affair. With Benn moving up in weight and Eubank Jr looking to prove himself after his recent performances, both fighters have a lot on the line. The egg incident has only added fuel to the fire of their already intense rivalry.
