This bout marks the start of Canelo's new four-fight deal with Saudi Arabia, which he signed in February 2025. The contract, worth a whopping $400 million, includes fights in Saudi Arabia, Mexico, and the USA over the next two years.

The ANB Arena, set to host 15,000 to 20,000 fans, boasts a retractable roof and a four-sided screen at the top. Fight night will kick off at 21:00 Mexican time, which is 06:00 the next day in Saudi Arabia.

Canelo enters the ring with an impressive record of 62 wins (39 by knockout), 2 losses, and 2 draws. His last fight was a unanimous decision victory over Edgar Berlanga in Las Vegas on September 14, 2024. The Mexican champion hasn't tasted defeat since May 2022, when he lost to Dmitry Bivol.

After this Saudi showdown, Canelo's next stop will be Las Vegas on September 13, 2025, to celebrate Mexico's Independence Day. In 2026, he'll return to his home country for two more fights as part of this lucrative deal.

The boxing world will watch closely as Canelo steps into the ring in Riyadh. Will he continue his winning streak, or will the Cuban challenger pull off an upset? We'll find out on May 3.
