Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney might not get to settle their score in the ring again. That's what Oscar De La Hoya thinks, at least.
The two fighters met in a super lightweight clash last year. Garcia dropped Haney several times on his way to a majority decision win. It marked the first loss of Haney's professional career.
But the victory didn't come without controversy. Garcia failed a drug test after the fight. He tested positive for Clomifene, which got him suspended for a year and fined over $1 million.
Fans and pundits around the world called for a rematch before the end of 2025. But De La Hoya, Garcia's promoter, doesn't see it happening.

"I feel that [Jose] Ramirez is gonna do a number on Devin Haney. We're not gonna see Ryan Garcia [vs.] Devin Haney 2. I believe [Jose] Ramirez will stop the show, I believe [Jose] Ramirez will do a number on Devin Haney."
De La Hoya's prediction refers to the upcoming fight between Haney and Jose Ramirez. The two will face off on May 2 in Times Square, New York City. Ramirez, a former unified super lightweight champion, will try to take Haney's WBC super lightweight title.
On the same night, Garcia will step into the ring with Rolando 'Rolly' Romero in a welterweight bout. It's a big step up in weight for "King Ry", the 26-year-old California native.
Garcia's performance against Haney last year shocked many boxing fans. He'll look to carry that momentum into his fight with Romero, while Haney, nicknamed "The Dream", will try to bounce back from his first professional loss.
Whether we'll see Garcia and Haney face off again remains uncertain. For now, both fighters have their hands full with their upcoming challenges on May 2.
