Tyson Fury's promoter Bob Arum thinks the former heavyweight champion will stay retired. This comes despite fans hoping for one last fight against Anthony Joshua.

Fury called it quits in January 2025 after losing twice to Oleksandr Usyk. The first loss came in May 2024 when he tried to become the undisputed champion. He lost the rematch on points in December 2024.

The British boxer's career has been a rollercoaster. He shocked the world in 2015 by beating Wladimir Klitschko in Germany. After that, he stepped away from boxing for two years to deal with mental health and addiction issues.

When Fury came back, he had three memorable fights with Deontay Wilder. The first ended in a draw, but Fury won the next two by knockout. He also beat Derek Chisora, Dillian Whyte, and Otto Wallin before facing Usyk.

Bob Arum shared his thoughts on Fury's retirement on the 5 Live Boxing podcast. He said:

"If I was a betting man I would say he will never fight again. Marvin Hagler had an expression – 'a rich guy who goes to bed wearing silk pyjamas doesn't get up in the morning to do road work'. Tyson, really, I don't think wants to get up in the morning and do road work and go through the experience of having to train when economically he doesn't have to do it any more."

Fury has retired five times before and always come back. But this time might be different. Arum thinks Fury's comfortable lifestyle might keep him out of the ring for good.

Some fans still hope for a fight between Fury and Anthony Joshua. Joshua, another British heavyweight, lost twice to Usyk before knocking out Daniel Dubois in September 2024.

Recent training footage of Fury has fueled comeback rumors. But for now, it looks like the 'Gypsy King' is content with his retirement.
