Mike Tyson has given a big thumbs up to Gervonta 'Tank' Davis. The former heavyweight champ thinks Davis has what it takes to become a boxing legend.

Tyson, known as 'The Baddest Man on the Planet', knows a thing or two about making it big in boxing. He grabbed the heavyweight title at just 20 years old, beating Trevor Berbick in his 28th fight. His career stats are impressive: 50 wins, 44 by knockout, and only 9 losses. He even had a streak of 37 fights without a loss.

But Tyson's career wasn't all smooth sailing. He lost to James 'Buster' Douglas in 1990, shocking everyone. Then, he ended up in jail for two years, missing out on his prime fighting time.

Despite these setbacks, Tyson's place in boxing history is rock solid. Now, he's pointing to Davis as the next big thing. In a chat with TMZ, Tyson said:

"Tank is a great fighter. He'll be a legend too if he keeps fighting."

Davis, nicknamed 'Tank', has a record that backs up Tyson's praise. He's won 30 fights, with 28 knockouts, and has only one draw. That draw came in his last fight against Lamont Roach Jr. It was a bit of a controversial result, with many thinking Roach should've won, especially after Davis took a knee in the ninth round without it being called a knockdown.

Looking ahead, Davis is likely to jump back in the ring with Roach for a rematch. He'll want to prove himself and keep his unbeaten record intact. If he wins that, a unification fight with Shakur Stevenson could be on the cards. That's a match-up that's got boxing fans excited.

But Davis has hinted he might hang up his gloves sooner rather than later. So, if he wants to live up to Tyson's prediction and become a legend, he'll need to make the most of his time in the ring.

Tyson's own career shows just how quickly things can change in boxing. One minute you're on top, the next you're facing unexpected challenges. Davis will need to stay focused and keep racking up those wins if he wants to join the ranks of boxing's all-time greats.

In an interesting twist, both Tyson and Davis have been linked to potential fights with Jake Paul. Paul controversially beat Tyson in a comeback fight last year, and he's been talking about a match with Davis too. It's a reminder of how the boxing world keeps evolving, with new challengers always popping up.

You can check out Tyson's full thoughts on Davis in his interview with TMZ. It's clear he sees something special in the young fighter. Now it's up to Davis to prove him right.
