Tyson Fury's Unexpected Path Back to World Title Glory: "It's Not What You Think"

Fury walked away from the sport just weeks after losing to Oleksandr Usyk for the second time. That May 2024 fight saw Fury trying to keep his WBC belt and become the undisputed champion. But things didn't go his way.

Before he quit, fans thought Fury might fight Anthony Joshua. Both guys had lost to Usyk twice and didn't have belts. They're also both nearing the end of their careers. Some people think Fury's retirement is just a way to get a better deal for the AJ fight.

Now, Daniel Dubois, the current IBF heavyweight world champion, says he'll give Fury a shot at his title. Dubois told Podlounge:

"Sure, put my name up first, I'm ready. If Fury came back I'd love to get in there in the mix with these guys, get in that title mix with all the big boys."

But Dubois has other plans too. He's got to deal with Derek Chisora, who's earned a mandatory shot at the title after beating Joe Joyce and Otto Wallin. Chisora only has one fight left in his career, so he'll want to make it count.

Dubois would rather fight Usyk to become undisputed champ. He's also keen to face Joseph Parker after pulling out of their scheduled fight earlier this year because he got sick.

Will Fury take up Dubois on his offer? Or will he stay retired? The boxing world waits to see what the Gypsy King will do next.
