Daniel Dubois and Derek Chisora might face off in the ring soon. The IBF has ordered Dubois to defend his heavyweight title against Chisora. But boxing promoter Eddie Hearn thinks it's not a good match for Chisora.
Chisora, a London heavyweight, has had a long career. He's fought 49 times and plans to retire after his 50th fight. He's never won a world title, but he's known for exciting fights. He's gone up against big names like Tyson Fury, Joseph Parker, Joe Joyce, and Dillian Whyte. In his last fight, he beat Otto Wallin.
On the other hand, Dubois is on a roll. He's the current IBF champion and has been impressive lately. Last September, he knocked out Anthony Joshua. Before that, he stopped Fillip Hrgovic and Jarrell Miller. He's now seen as one of the top fighters in the division.
The IBF has told Dubois he must fight Chisora. This comes after Dubois had to pull out of a fight with Joseph Parker in February because he was sick.
Hearn shared his thoughts about the potential fight in an interview with iFL TV. He said:
"He's fought for the world title before hasn't he, twice. It's not a good fight for him, Daniel Dubois, it's not a fight I want to see, but it's his career, if he's earned it and been called for it, it's not his fault."
Hearn explained why he thinks it's a tough match for Chisora:
"It's just the style. There's certain styles in 'Del Boy's career that are good for him, some are bad for him, and Dubois is one that is bad one for him. But 'Del Boy' is a legend."
Dubois and his team might prefer other options. They'd like a rematch with Oleksandr Usyk, who beat Dubois last August. A win there could lead to undisputed heavyweight status. Dubois is also interested in rescheduling the bout with Joseph Parker.
