Hrgovic explained why he and Joshua lost to Dubois

Croatian super featherweight Filip Hrgovic analyzed his mistakes in his fight with IBF world champion Daniel Dubois.

"I didn't take him seriously and underestimated him, I thought it would be a much easier fight for me. I used up my energy after five or six rounds. From the second round on, I hardly saw his punches. I had two deep cuts. They affected my vision and concentration and gave him the confidence to press me.

Tactically, I made a mistake by giving him too much space in the attack. I should have made him stagger more. I should have blocked his jab and moved his head more. I was too confident in delivering a right jab and dropping him. Joshua made the same mistake of letting him walk forward and trying to catch Dubois on the counter. We both made the same mistake," Hrgovic said.

Recall that last June, Dubois defeated Hrgovic by technical knockout in the eighth round.
