Logan Paul has answered Lionel Messi's bodyguard, Yassine Cheuko, who's been calling him out for a fight. Paul's set a condition for the potential showdown.
The back-and-forth between Paul and Cheuko started because of a legal battle. Paul's sports drink brand PRIME and Messi's Mas + are fighting in a New York court. Mas + sued PRIME last October, saying they copied their design and competed unfairly. PRIME hit back with their own lawsuit, claiming Messi stole their brand designs.
Paul first joked about settling the lawsuit by fighting Messi himself. He posted on TikTok:
"All jokes aside, I swear I would consider backing out of the lawsuit, only if.... Logan Paul vs Messi. I'll see you in the ring brother"
Cheuko stepped in during a training session. He said Messi didn't know who Paul was and offered to fight Paul himself instead of the footballer. Cheuko then posted on Instagram:
"Listen Logan, I make this video because a lot of people have stopped me in the streets and I have received many messages and comments on Instagram about this fight. Let's do the fight for the people. Let's do it"
Paul brushed it off in the comments, saying: "My brother thought he was cooking". Cheuko fired back: "Why? Are you afraid? To talk and then back out?"
Now, in his weekly YouTube video, Paul's given his final answer. He's up for the fight, but on one condition:
"I've offered people to fly out before, he doesn't even deserve a flight. It's like, bro, I'm out here in Puerto Rico, if you want to stop me in Puerto Rico, you're more than welcome. But when I beat you up, this is a big when, not an if, when I beat you up, you'll have to drink Prime"
Paul, who wrestles for WWE and creates content online, didn't stop there. He added:
"I would really start to feel bad for Messi because, man, he's going to lose this lawsuit. He'll probably also lose his bodyguard, because why would you hire one if a YouTuber beats him? He's losing everything except the World Cup"
The ball's now in Cheuko's court. Will he take up Paul's challenge and head to Puerto Rico? Or will this potential fight fizzle out like a flat sports drink? We'll have to wait and see.
