Gervonta "Tank" Davis might face Shakur Stevenson in the ring soon. Davis' recent draw with Lamont Roach Jr. has left him in a tough spot, making him more open to a fight he previously refused.

Davis isn't at his best right now. He's not even close to the fighter he was a few fights ago. His immediate plan is to finalize a rematch against Roach.

Oscar De La Hoya, the former boxer known as "Golden Boy," shared his thoughts on the situation. He said Stevenson, the current WBC lightweight champion, is a tough opponent but not impossible to beat. De La Hoya described Stevenson's style as very complex.

"If Davis shows the same performance as against Roach, Stevenson will not give him a minute's peace in the ring,"
De La Hoya warned.

The boxing world is also keeping an eye on William Zepeda, the Mexican fighter who currently holds the WBC interim lightweight title. Zepeda beat Tevin Farmer in 2024 and will face him again on March 29.

De La Hoya sees a clear path ahead. He predicts that after the Zepeda-Farmer rematch, we could see Zepeda take on Stevenson. The winner of that fight might then face Davis in a title unification bout.

This sequence of events could lead to an exciting showdown in the lightweight division. For now, all eyes are on Davis as he prepares for his rematch with Roach, and on Zepeda as he gets ready to face Farmer again.
