The 191 centimeter tall Brit has recently experienced significant difficulties to keep within the middleweight limit (72.55 kg), so he and his team decided to move to super middleweight (76.2 kg). Recall that Shiraz drew with Adames on February 22 in a fight for the WBC middleweight belt, even though most observers felt he didn't even deserve it.
"The move up to middleweight is killing this guy. I don't know how he's been putting up with it lately because he's growing bigger and bigger. So we made the decision to move up to super middleweight where we'll have a lot of new opportunities. I believe he will feel much better and stronger in a higher limit," said his promoter Frank Warren.
