Gervonta Davis has named the hardest-hitting opponent he's faced, and it's not who you might expect. The 30-year-old from Baltimore picked Rolando 'Rolly' Romero over Ryan Garcia, despite his high-profile knockout win against the latter.

Davis and Garcia faced off in April 2023 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The fight got a lot of attention from boxing fans around the world and reportedly pulled in 1.2 million pay-per-view buys, according to Showtime. Davis ended the bout with a body shot in the seventh round, handing Garcia his first professional loss.

But when asked about the hardest puncher he's faced, Davis didn't hesitate to name Romero. He said in a recent interview:

"I ain't gonna lie, Rolly hit hard. People been sleeping on Rolly. He ain't got no chin on him so Rolly be getting caught but Rolly can hit bro, like he can hit. He's the only person that I've felt like when he's swung it felt like bricks were in his gloves."

Davis fought Romero in May 2022, defending his WBA lightweight title. He knocked out Romero in six rounds. Since then, Romero won the WBA super lightweight title against Ismael Barroso in 2023 but lost it to Isaac 'Pitbull' Cruz in his next fight.

The debate about who hits harder between Garcia and Romero might get settled soon. The two are set to face each other in May, giving fans a chance to see their power head-to-head.

Davis's career has been shaped by several key moments, and his fights with both Garcia and Romero certainly rank among them. His opinion on Romero's power adds an interesting angle to the upcoming Garcia-Romero matchup, which boxing fans will watch closely.
