Oleksandr Usyk's Dream Opponent Accepts Challenge: "September Works For Me"

Usyk's had an amazing 13-year run as a pro. He started after winning gold at the London Olympics and quickly made his mark. At cruiserweight, he became the undisputed champ, beating everyone in his way without ever getting knocked down or seriously hurt.

When he moved up to heavyweight, Usyk didn't slow down. He beat Anthony Joshua not once, but twice. Then he defended his belts against Daniel Dubois. The cherry on top? He became the undisputed heavyweight champ by beating Tyson Fury twice.

Now in his late thirties, Usyk knows he's only got one or two fights left. He's looking at a couple of options for his grand finale.

A rematch with Daniel Dubois, the current IBF champ, is likely next on the cards. But Usyk's got something else up his sleeve for his very last fight.

The Ukrainian champ threw out an unexpected name - Alex Pereira. Usyk said:

"Maybe show fight with Alex Pereira, maybe, why not. Alex wanna [do it?]"

Pereira, a UFC champ, didn't miss a beat. He jumped at the chance, saying:

"When I saw it I jumped with joy. Who knows, in September, in Saudi Arabia."

Pereira's quick response got fans talking about a possible September showdown in Saudi Arabia.

While it's an exciting idea, this crossover bout probably won't happen. Usyk will be the overwhelming favorite in whatever fight he chooses for his finale. But you can't blame a guy for dreaming big as he plans his exit from the ring.
