The powerful Puerto Rican lost on points to Liam Paro (25-1, 15 KOs) nine months ago, but then the Australian lost his IBF belt to Richardson Hitchins (19-0, 7 KOs) in his first defense. The 32-year-old knockout artist from Fajardo wouldn't mind facing both.

"Now I want to fight Hitchins and become a two-time world champion. And when I do that, I want to avenge my defeat to Paro. Only then will I be truly happy," stated the former champion.

"Valenzuela, like all Mexican boxers, showed his readiness for the fight. I know these guys well and have learned a lot from them, as I trained in Mexico for two years in the past. And Valenzuela only confirmed what I already knew about them," added Matias, praising his Saturday opponent.
