Fury, who's 30 years old and the cousin of Tyson Fury, ended a long layoff earlier this year. He's won his last three fights against Kostiantyn Dovbyshchenko, Patrick Korte, and Christian Thun. Now, he's signed with GBM Sports and wants to make a big impact.
The former WBO world title challenger will be part of the co-main event at "GBM: Once Upon A Time In London". His opponent hasn't been announced yet, but Fury's not too worried about that.
"The main thing is I just want to get active. Whoever they can get. Get this out the way and then onto bigger and better, so not too sure who they've got for me."
Fury believes he's got a lot more to show in the ring. He's targeting some big names in the heavyweight division.
"People haven't seen a fraction of [what I can do], so I'm looking forward to this year to put it all on display. You just have to wait and find out, but this year I'm definitely making a statement and looking forward to it. I want big fights, big names, so I'm just waiting for these opportunities to come my way now. I'd like the Dubois fight, the Joseph Parker fight, Zhang, Hrgovic, these are the fights."
The heavyweight landscape might open up soon as some of the big names get closer to retirement. Fury's even got his eye on a potential fight with Anthony Joshua, who recently lost his bid to become a three-weight world champion against Daniel Dubois.
"Yeah, 100% [I would fight AJ]. I'd like these fights. Hopefully we can get them on … I can't see why not. I'll hopefully get some good wins under my belt and we'll see. I'd like to definitely be [his] final fight."
A fight between Joshua and Tyson Fury is now off the table. Tyson recently announced his retirement from boxing, leaving the heavyweight division wide open for new contenders.
The main event of "GBM: Once Upon A Time In London" will feature Shakan Pitters taking on Daniel Blenda Dos Santos for the European Light-Heavyweight title. Hughie Fury's comeback fight will certainly add extra excitement to the night.
