Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KO) will be watching Saturday's fight between Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KO) and Joseph Parker (35-3, 23 KO) closely. He's already fought both of them, but it's entirely possible that he'll be facing a rematch with someone soon.
This will be Dubois' second defense of the IBF world heavyweight title. He defeated AJ in the first fight in September, knocking him out in the fifth round. The former champion had contractual rights to an immediate rematch but declined, hoping for a higher-paying fight with Tyson Fury. Fury eventually announced the end of his career and AJ was left out of the picture for a while.
"AJ will be back to get his revenge. We haven't decided on a direction yet, but after the Dubois-Parker fight we'll talk about a possible opponent and plans for the near future. If Fury does not return, his priority will be to fight for the world title, but he will not fight Usyk. Thus, the potential opponent in the Parker vs. Dubois fight will be a stronger fighter. Those are probably the only options AJ wants to talk about is Fury or the winner of the Dubois vs. Parker fight. Fury is quiet, but things could change in a matter of weeks," said Eddie Hearn, Joshua's longtime promoter.
