Floyd Mayweather has spoken up about Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford, two of boxing's biggest stars who are set to face each other in September.

The boxing world has been abuzz since the announcement of the Canelo-Crawford fight. After a turbulent few weeks of negotiations, during which Canelo nearly opted to face Jake Paul instead, the fight with Crawford was sealed at the last minute.

Mayweather, who retired in 2017 with a perfect 50-0 record, has a unique perspective on both fighters. He fought and defeated Canelo in 2013 and has long admired Crawford's skills.

In a recent interview with Fighthype, Mayweather didn't hold back when discussing Canelo:

"You can take a guy like Canelo. I'll tell the truth about Canelo. The mo**erf**ker was easy. A cakewalk, easy. You're all praising this dude. He was nothing. I was almost 40 and I cooked this dude, easy."

On the other hand, Mayweather had high praise for Crawford, stating:

"As of right now, I'd put Terence Crawford as number one."

Mayweather's comments add fuel to the ongoing debate about whether Crawford can successfully move up two weight divisions to challenge Canelo.

Before the September showdown, Canelo will defend his IBF title against William Scull in May in Saudi Arabia. If Alvarez wins, Crawford could have a shot at becoming undisputed champion at 168lbs.

As the boxing community eagerly awaits the Canelo-Crawford fight, Mayweather's contrasting opinions on the two fighters add an interesting dimension to the buildup.
