Davis shocked fans when he announced his retirement plans during a press conference for his upcoming fight. He said he'd leave the sport at the end of 2025 to focus on his family and get therapy for anger issues. But now, 'Tank' has had second thoughts.

In an interview on A Safe Place Podcast, Davis explained his new stance:

"Yeah I've been having those thoughts [on changing my mind]. I want to get myself together. I really want to get myself together. Not retire but take a break."

The 30-0 fighter with 28 knockouts has made his mark across multiple weight classes. He's picked up world titles at super-featherweight, lightweight, and super-lightweight. His impressive record includes wins over Ryan Garcia, Leo Santa Cruz, Rolly Romero, and Frank Martin.

Davis is set to defend his WBA lightweight title against Lamont Roach in March 2024. The fight was originally scheduled for earlier but got pushed back.

When asked about future fights after Roach, Davis hinted at more big matches to come:

"There's definitely some more heads I got to put on a wall."

This statement will excite boxing fans who thought Davis' retirement plans killed hopes for fights against Shakur Stevenson and Vasiliy Lomachenko.

Stevenson has a fight coming up on February 22 against Floyd Schofield. A win there could set up a showdown with Davis. Even Canelo Alvarez has weighed in with his prediction for a potential Davis-Stevenson matchup.

Davis' decision to keep fighting means the lightweight division stays red-hot. Fans can look forward to more action-packed bouts from one of boxing's biggest stars.
