Absolute super middleweight champion Saul Alvarez (62-2-2, 39 KOs) is negotiating a three-fight contract with Turki Al Al-Sheikh. This was reported by ESPN journalist Salvador Rodriguez.

The first fight under the new contract should take place in May, and in September, under the same agreement, the Mexican will have to fight Terence Crawford. The name of Canelo's closest opponent is not yet known.

Alvarez has had his last three fights on Premier Boxing Champions nights, but financial problems for the Al Haymon-led project have led to the Mexican likely to start working with a Saudi promoter. In his last appearance in the ring, Canelo was victorious on points over Edgar Berlanga.
