Tyson Fury's Promoter Drops Bombshell About Boxer's Future: "He's Earned The Right"

Fury's career has been full of ups and downs. He beat big names like Wladimir Klitschko and Deontay Wilder, building up a record of 34 wins, 2 losses, and 1 draw, with 24 knockouts. But this isn't the first time he's said he's done. He quit after beating Klitschko and again in 2022 after his win over Dillian Whyte.

This time, Fury decided to walk away even though he could have made a lot of money fighting Anthony Joshua. He thinks he won both fights against Usyk, which might be why he's hanging up the gloves.

Frank Warren, who's been Fury's promoter for a long time, didn't know about the retirement until everyone else did. He talked about it on IFL TV:

"No [I wasn't aware] at all, but if that's his decision, God bless him and good luck to him. He deserves to be happy and if that makes him happy I'm delighted for him. I'm pleased he's made his mind up [on] what he wants to do."

Warren won't try to change Fury's mind. He thinks it's up to Fury to decide what's best for him.

"I certainly won't be trying to sway him out of it and I don't believe anybody who cares about him will either. If he wants to do it, that's up to him."

Looking back at Fury's career, Warren had a lot of good things to say:

"The bottom line of all this is Tyson has been a great servant for British boxing, for world boxing. He's been an unbelievable two-time world champion in some of the most exciting fights of his generation and world heavyweight boxing over the years. For me, him and Usyk are the two best heavyweights of the 21st century. No doubt about that in my mind."

Even though Fury says he's done, fans might wonder if he'll change his mind again. He's come back twice before. For now, though, it looks like the 'Gypsy King' is ready to enjoy life outside the ring.
