Tyson Fury Backs Surprising Winner in Canelo-Crawford Showdown: "He's Got the Edge"

The match-up looks great on paper, but many in the sport think Crawford's jump in weight might be too much. Crawford's more eager for the fight, while Canelo's willing to do it for the right price. Canelo has made it clear he won't drop weight for the bout.

Fury explained his prediction to TNT Sports Boxing:

"Here we have Terence Crawford versus Alvarez. Very tough fight, different weight categories. What weight would this fight happen? I don't know. At 168, I'm gonna say Canelo. At 140 I'm gonna say Crawford. So I'll go with Canelo."

For Fury, it all comes down to weight. Canelo's comfortable at super-middleweight (168 lbs) and has never lost there. He's a four-weight world champion with a strong punch and a record of 64-2-2 over 66 fights.

Crawford, also a four-weight world champion, currently fights at super-welterweight. He'd need to jump up two divisions to face Canelo, a 14-pound difference from his last fight.

Crawford's known for his fight-ending power, but his super-welterweight debut saw him go the distance for the first time in ten fights. This suggests his strength might not carry as well to higher weight classes.

The fight's not set yet, but if it happens, Fury's betting on Canelo at 168 lbs. We'll have to wait and see if these two champions decide to face off in the ring.
