Tommy Fury's Bold Challenge to Boxing Icon Sparks Fan Backlash: "You're Not Ready"

Fury's last two fights were pretty big deals. He got points wins over KSI and Jake Paul, both big names in the crossover boxing scene. After those, he said he wanted to get back to traditional boxing and chase a world title.

But 2024 hasn't gone as planned for the 25-year-old. He had to have surgery on his hand, which put him out of action for a while. He was set to fight Darren Till in January 2025, but that fell through. Till even threatened to use MMA moves, though he later said it was just "mental warfare".

Now Fury's looking for his next big fight. He's turned his attention to Conor McGregor, the former UFC two-weight world champion. Fury called him out on X (that's what we used to call Twitter), saying:

"Conor McGregor, don't waste your time with beaten fighters. Fight the man who's beaten them all and still has his 0. I'll be waiting."

McGregor's only had one pro boxing match, losing to Floyd Mayweather. But that fight made a ton of money and got people talking. Recently, there's been talk of McGregor fighting Logan Paul, Jake Paul, and KSI.

Fury's challenge didn't go down well with everyone. Some fans brought up how he backed out of the Till fight. One person wrote, "you literally ran from fighting Darren Till". Another said, "imagine what Conor's mental games would do to you".

It's not clear if McGregor will take up the offer. He hasn't said if he'll box again, and his UFC comeback is still up in the air.

Fury, half-brother of former heavyweight champ Tyson Fury, seems keen to get back in the ring. We'll have to wait and see if calling out McGregor leads to anything or if it's just talk.
