Canelo Alvarez isn't interested in fighting David Benavidez, even though many fans want to see the match-up. The Mexican superstar is looking for his next opponent, and Benavidez isn't on his list.

Alvarez, who holds the WBC, WBA, and WBO super-middleweight titles, last fought in September. He beat Edgar Berlanga by unanimous decision. Now, he's getting ready for a potential fight on Cinco de Mayo weekend in May.

While fans are pushing for a showdown with undefeated boxer David Benavidez, Canelo doesn't see the appeal. In a recent interview, he made his thoughts clear:

"He's a good fighter, I'm a great fighter. He's not the same. Look, it's his weight class. 175 is his weight class, and he do nothing at 175, really."

Benavidez, a two-time super-middleweight champion, recently moved up to light heavyweight. He won the WBC interim light heavyweight belt in June, beating Oleksandr Gvozdyk by unanimous decision. He's set to fight WBA Regular light-heavyweight champion David Morrell in February.

Instead of Benavidez, Canelo's team is looking at other options. Terence Crawford and Chris Eubank Jr are among the names being considered for the Mexican's next fight.

The potential Crawford vs Canelo fight is getting a lot of attention. It's currently the frontrunner for next year, and even Benavidez has weighed in with his prediction on how it might go.

Canelo's last fight against Berlanga showed he's still at the top of his game. Whoever he chooses to face next, it's sure to be a big event in the boxing world.
