Stevenson recently left Arum's Top Rank for Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Boxing. The 27-year-old holds the WBC lightweight world title and has won belts in three weight classes. He's known as one of the hardest boxers to hit in the sport.
Arum told Fight Hub TV:
"I still think he is a tremendous talent. And I think he'll beat any lightweight with the possible exception of Keyshawn Davis … Neither guy wants to fight each other."
Stevenson and Davis train together and see each other as family. They've both said they won't fight each other.
Stevenson told FightHype:
"Here's the thing. I already told y'all, there's only one person I wouldn't fight, but I'm down with fighting anybody so I wouldn't mind getting in some s**t like that if it make sense. But if it's me and Keyshawn in there I wouldn't wanna do that s**t."
Davis backed that up, saying:
"Like a brother, for real. Literally like a brother. It's deeper than boxing. We'll never fight each other. His family is my family … It's just gonna be like that."
Their friendship could stop either from becoming undisputed champion at lightweight. Davis is close to fighting WBO champion Denys Berinchyk, but if he wins, a clash with Stevenson looks unlikely.
Stevenson's next fight is set for February 22 against Floyd Schofield. The three-weight world champion will look to show why Arum and others rate him so highly.
