Stephen Espinoza, president of Showtime TV channel, said that Vasyl Lomachenko wanted to make a fight with Gervonta Davis. Espinoza also noted that he was involved in negotiations for this fight.
"The first one was Lomachenko. It seemed to me at that moment that his fight with Davis would take place. However, soon Vasyl, for personal reasons, decided that the time was not right for him for this fight and stopped the dialog.
Then we had negotiations with Shakur [Stevenson]. His timing wasn't right for him either. But it doesn't matter what stage of his career Lomachenko is at: if he continues to perform, a fight with him would be the most favorable for Davis. And Vasyl said that he would like to make a fight with Gervonta."
