Jake Paul, the YouTuber-turned-boxer, has plenty of options for his next fight after beating Mike Tyson. The 27-year-old took on the 58-year-old heavyweight legend in a match that got a lot of attention but didn't deliver much action.
Paul won easily on points after eight rounds. He later said he wished Tyson had done more than just try to survive. The result was clear from the start, even though about 100 million people watched the event.
Now, Paul's looking at who to fight next. He's got some big names on his list. There's Artur Beterbiev, who holds all the belts at light-heavyweight. Then there's Gilberto 'Zurdo' Ramírez, a cruiserweight champ. But the most surprising call-out came from Daniel Dubois, the IBF heavyweight champion.
Dubois, known as "DDD," just had the best win of his career against Anthony Joshua. He's got 22 wins with 21 knockouts. He's set to defend his IBF title against Joseph Parker on February 22 in Saudi Arabia.
But Dubois is also interested in fighting Paul. He talked about it on the Bricks to Riches podcast.
"If Jake wants it with me he can get it. I'm the world champion, I'd be giving him a shot like that. Of course [I'll knock him out in the first minute] but it'll be a historic moment wouldn't it? Like never before."
Dubois made it clear he won't take Paul lightly if they do fight.
"I wouldn't take anybody likely, if someone got a chance at a world title then if he's smart he'll really go to work and try to be the best version of himself so I'd never take anyone likely."
When asked about Paul's fight with Tyson, Dubois wasn't surprised by how it turned out.
"I think it was real, Mike is a winner and it was a win-win situation for him but he's nearly 60 years old so what do you expect."
For now, Dubois is focusing on his upcoming fight with Parker. But he's made it clear - if Paul wants a shot at the heavyweight title, he's ready to give it to him.
