Tyson, the former undisputed heavyweight champion, is closing in on 60 years old. He'll be stepping into the ring with Jake Paul, a novice boxer who's not even 30 yet. Paul has only had 11 fights over the last four years, while Tyson retired back in 2005.
The match will last eight rounds, each two minutes long, with the fighters wearing 14-ounce gloves. It's billed as having "soft pro rules," which has led many to think there might be a gentleman's agreement to make it more of a competitive exhibition.
Tyson says he can beat Paul, but a lot of people aren't buying it. The controversial bout has raised concerns about Tyson's safety, given the big age gap between the two fighters.
Oscar De La Hoya, a Hall of Fame fighter turned promoter, shared his thoughts on The Stomping Ground. He sees Paul as a young, strong fighter who's getting more dangerous with experience.
"One punch from Jake Paul well-landed can easily knock out Mike Tyson," De La Hoya said.
But he also thinks Tyson has a chance if he can make his move early.
"If Tyson lands the right punch in the first three rounds it could be sayonara for Jake Paul," he added.
De La Hoya believes Tyson's best shot is in those first three rounds. After that, he thinks Tyson's gas tank will start to run low. His prediction? If Tyson's going to win, it'll be in those early rounds. But if the fight goes past round four, he sees Paul coming out on top.
Despite the concerns, De La Hoya thinks the fight will be entertaining.
"I think it's a positive thing," he said. "The masses will be watching across the world."
But he couldn't help adding a note of caution: "I just wish that everyone comes out healthy, especially with Tyson being 60-years-old."
The fight's certainly got people talking. Whether it'll live up to the hype or not, we'll have to wait and see.
