Tommy Fury Reveals Surprising Truth About Jake Paul's Power: "I Never Expected That"

Paul's upcoming fight with Mike Tyson on July 20 at AT&T; Stadium in Arlington, Texas, will be his second bout against a professional boxer. The match has gotten people talking about the power of both fighters.

Tyson's reputation as one of the hardest hitters in boxing history comes from his impressive record. Out of his 50 wins, 44 came by knockout. His early career was particularly devastating, with his first 19 professional fights ending in knockouts, 12 of those in the first round.

Paul has shown some power of his own. He's won 10 fights, with 7 knockouts. His last three fights ended early, with two first-round stoppages against Ryan Bourland and Andre August.

But Tommy Fury, the only pro boxer to beat Paul, wasn't impressed by his power. In an interview, Fury said:

"I've been around this all my life. I've sparred a lot of people and been in the ring sparring real punchers, his power wasn't anything that was worrying me at all. That's why I had my hands down, I wasn't really bothered. He's a good, strong lad but not the hardest hitter I've ever fought."

Fury's assessment carries weight given his boxing background. He comes from a family of boxers, including his brother, heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

Speaking of Tyson Fury, he's predicted a knockout in the Paul vs Tyson fight. The bout will certainly test Paul's skills and power against a legendary fighter, even if Tyson is well past his prime.

The fight in Texas will tell us a lot about how far "The Problem Child" has come in his boxing journey. It'll be interesting to see if Paul can land his shots on Tyson, or if the former champ still has enough of his famous power to trouble the younger man.
