James Ali Bashir, former coach of unified world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk, believes that Anthony Joshua's team has refused an immediate rematch with IBF titleholder Daniel Dubois as he wants to set his charge up with Tyson Fury if the latter loses to the Ukrainian again in their upcoming rematch.
"I think his promoter wants to see what happens in a rematch between Fury and Usyk. He doesn't want to make a fight with Dubois because he sees a bigger fish as he will be able to get Joshua out to face Fury.
That's why there's a definite backlash to Joshua coming out for a rematch with Dubois. It's a risky fight. And from a money standpoint, it's much better for Joshua to fight Fury. I believe Eddie Hearn is targeting that," Bashir said in an interview with YouTube channel Seconds Out.
