Former Mike Tyson Promoter Warns of 'Dangerous' Outcome in Jake Paul Bout: "Someone Could Get Hurt"

Tyson's legendary career includes becoming the youngest ever world heavyweight champion at age 20. He knocked out his first 19 opponents inside six rounds and fought big names like Evander Holyfield, Frank Bruno, and Lennox Lewis. Paul, on the other hand, has had 11 fights with only one loss to Tommy Fury.

The fight will consist of 8 two-minute rounds. It's gotten people talking because of the 30-year age gap and the huge difference in experience between the two fighters.

Promoter Frank Warren shared his thoughts on the match in an interview with Ariel Helwani. He said he'll watch the fight, but described it as "like watching a car crash."

"58-year-old guys fighting, I'm not a big fan of that, guys at that age shouldn't be fighting," Warren said. But he added, "As long as it's medically regulated and they know the risks going into it, that's their choice."

Warren praised Jake Paul and his team, calling them "really good people" and "a joy to work with." Still, he wouldn't personally endorse this type of fight.

As for how the fight might go, Warren thinks we'll see "vintage Mike Tyson coming out and doing what he does" in the first round. After that, he's not sure what will happen. Either way, he expects the fight to get "record viewing because people will buy into it."

Warren knows Tyson well, having promoted two of his fights in the UK back in 2000 against Julius Francis and Lou Savarese.

The fight will take place in Texas, where the governing body has given it the green light. Former heavyweight champ Lennox Lewis has also weighed in, backing his old rival Tyson to impress against the YouTube star.
