Anthony Joshua's got a big choice to make after Daniel Dubois knocked him out in the fifth round at Wembley Stadium in September. He's thinking about a rematch, but it's not an easy decision.
Joshua seemed keen on the idea at first. But his team's saying injuries might stop him from fighting Dubois again in February. That's when Dubois, who now holds the IBF belt, plans to get back in the ring.
Malik Scott, who trains Deontay Wilder, thinks Joshua should go for it. Scott knows a thing or two about rematches - he saw Wilder lose to Tyson Fury twice. He told FightHype:
"You have to assess what part of your career you're in. If it was early like Andy Ruiz Jr, I'd say go straight back in. This is the second part of his career but I still say go straight back into it."
Scott reckons Joshua's running out of time. He says AJ needs to fight top-10 boxers, but any of them could beat him now. His advice? "Get in the mirror, face your demon and conquer it."
But Scott thinks there's more to it. He believes Eddie Hearn, Joshua's promoter, might want the rematch more than Joshua does.
"I truly believe Eddie Hearn has an emotional, compassionate attachment to Anthony Joshua. I could be wrong but if I had to bet on it I bet he do have a connection with him. And I think in the heat of the moment after Dubois knocked Joshua out, Eddie Hearn wanted the rematch more than Joshua."
Joshua's been here before. He beat Andy Ruiz Jr in a rematch but lost to Oleksandr Usyk the second time around. Some folks reckon he should hang up his gloves to avoid another KO loss. But Joshua's team is keeping quiet about his next move, only saying injuries might rule out a February fight.
It's a tough call for Joshua. Does he risk another loss, or does he step away from the ring? Whatever he decides, it'll shape the rest of his boxing career.
