Dubois beat Joshua in September 2023. He knocked out the former two-time champion in the fifth round with a short right hand. Before that, Joshua looked like he might have Dubois in trouble.
In an interview with Seconds Out, Dubois shared his thoughts on that crucial moment:
"No one said that doing it was going to be easy. I had to slay the king so I had to come through whatever firepower he was bringing at me. In that moment it was just focus. I like those sort of matches up where we let the hands go, roll the dice, back and forth gun-slinging, that was really exciting to me, to be honest."
Dubois admitted the fight wasn't easy. He said he had to stay focused when Joshua stepped in to throw more shots after Dubois looked wobbled. The IBF champion also mentioned he enjoys intense exchanges in the ring.
Joshua had a tough night overall. He got knocked down multiple times and chased the fight from the first round. His low guard and lazy jabs didn't help his cause.
Now, Joshua is thinking about a rematch. Many people advise against it because of how the first fight went. But Joshua seems keen to try again. Dubois, for his part, is ready to back up his performance if they meet in the ring again.
